Beautiful beachfront, but a very disappointing return visit The beachfront bures were beautiful, and the water around that side of the island was spectacular. Unfortunately, those were the highlights of an otherwise very disappointing stay.

Worth knowing

As a returning guest, I was underwhelmed by how much the island has changed. Another block of accommodation is being built on an already tiny island, yet the infrastructure does not seem adequate for the number of guests. There was loud construction noise, as well as noise from the generators. We were also very concerned by what appeared to be an exposed sewage outlet running into the beach near the accommodation. We also had a frustrating experience with the boat transfer from the main island. Despite having pre-booked, we were told there were no spaces available, apparently because the boat was full of day trippers. We insisted that our confirmed booking be honoured and were eventually able to board. We know of other guests who did not insist and were reportedly required to pay an additional AU$600 to arrange alternative transport. This is unacceptable for guests who have already booked and paid for their transfer. Every day, day trippers arrived around 10 a.m. and effectively took over the island until approximately 4 p.m. This made it difficult to enjoy the peaceful island experience we had expected as overnight guests. The lunch was particularly disappointing, with the food seemingly geared towards the large number of day visitors on an included meal package. Overall, the food was below standard, and the experience was nowhere near what I would expect from a four-star resort. The staff also did not seem particularly happy or engaged. The most disappointing part was when our young son became unwell and had difficulty breathing. We had to leave the island on our final night because there was no doctor available. We received no follow-up to check on his wellbeing, and the resort did not proactively offer a refund or alternative accommodation. We also struggled to get responses through WhatsApp. Booking.com eventually intervened, and we understand a refund for the unused night has now been processed.

We got told it was a Party island but it isn’t, there’s like 20 people on there ahahah Can only eat on set times - if you miss you can only get chocolate and chips from the shop Bar shuts at 10pm Can’t buy water in the shop Good for day trips but not longer than 2 days

All inclusive didn’t really mean all inclusive. Deserts were extra, any drink that wasn’t local cost an arm and a leg. Some of the staff were okay, some were not so friendly

Worth knowing

They have an onsite water facility and claim it’s safe to drink. My partner and ai still got unwell from just having ice in our drinks.
