Worth knowing

Bure’s need an upgrade, but were functional. Property appeared unkept in places with trash and debris frequently found on the grounds. Without a car you are limited to only one restaurant in the hotel for all meals which was good some days , but lacking others. Pool needs deep cleaning and resurfacing.

A resort style holiday that still had an authentic aspect of Fiji.

The staff are amazing, the location is amazing. But the resort itself needs work.

It pains me to write this review because the staff were genuinely wonderful and were clearly doing the best they could with the resources they had. My concerns are not with them, they are with the owners and decision-makers who need to invest in this beautiful resort. The staff, however, were exceptional. They remembered us by name, were always warm and welcoming, and worked incredibly hard every day. We saw the maintenance team constantly raking the beaches, mowing the grounds, removing coconuts before they became a safety hazard, and regularly emptying bins around the resort. Their dedication certainly did not go unnoticed. The location is also excellent, as we could snorkel right off the beach! This review is not a reflection of the hardworking staff. It is a reflection of the current ownership and what appears to be a ‘cost-cutting’ approach that is impacting the guest experience. This resort has so much potential and is set in a truly beautiful location. Please invest in the maintenance, facilities, and guest experience before it’s too late. The people paying to stay here deserve better, and so do the incredible staff who work so hard to make the best of a difficult situation.

Worth knowing

After travelling for 12 hours with a toddler, we arrived late on Saturday night to find there was no running water in our bure. Water was restored the following day, but it was only cold. We weren’t able to have a hot shower until Thursday(six days into our stay). The beachfront was understandably closed for two days due to wild weather, but unfortunately the pool wasn’t a suitable alternative. It was green, cloudy, and so dirty that you couldn’t even see the lane markings on the bottom. The food was also a major disappointment. Despite breakfast being included with our stay, we ended up paying to eat breakfast at a neighbouring resort most mornings because the quality simply wasn’t what we expected.

Staff were very friendly and deserve to be paid better than what they are considering the cost per night at the resort. Grounds were kept imaculate.

Worth knowing

Better Culture shows like other resorts would be amazing. Upon arrival the toliets at reception were horrible.

First impression was very good the tide was high the beach looked ok , the cabins along the beach were cosy looking and the staff very welcoming eager to please. As you walk to your cabin the grounds were tropical very well cared for gardens flowers blooming ect. Walking into the cabin first impression was good has 1 large bed and 1single bed and spacious with high set ceiling nice big bed bulla message made with plants pieces on the bed a bit aged but i think its about 30 years old so not bad for the age of the place at first glance it was very nice.

Worth knowing

After settling in , we discovered the toilet to be leaking water, the water following a path from the bathroom via the grouted sections of the tiles out the door under the door separating the ajoining cabin from ours and out the front doorway of our room , this had obviously gone unreported for a very long time as the door between our room and the ajoing cabin was warped and swollen the timber beginning to rot from long term exposure to the water making it not possible to latch the door securely . Any one in the next cabin would only need to apply a small amount of pressure to enter your room. The shower had limited pressure and no hot water , we requested a cabin change this was not possible until our 3rd day due to other cabins being fully booked so 2 days with leaking toilet slippery floors and cold showers. THE BEACH Looks good when the tide is full but very rocky below the surface do not enter without reef shoes. Then the tide goes out water goes out to a kilometer or more to the reef edge so dangerous to swim also exposing a not very attractive coastline covered in rocks and coral . Day 3 we change cabins A little smaller than the first but no toilet leak not bad similar set up to the first , but then the shower no hot water again , slightly warm atleast if you only use hot tap , but not hot in the slightest , and now the room has telephone too for easy contack when you need something. The breakfast was a buffet not great but edible but never changing day in day out same options so by day 4 we just did not bother to attend opting to use our hire car to find better options. The evening meal was very set few options , pizza always available or 2 other main menue options with a soup entree and 2 or 3 desert choices and a kids menu nuggets or basic burgers or fish n chips. So 1 night dinning was enough choosing to use a hire car to find other options . The location is very isolated close options for food were other resorts or a long drive to a town.
