Amazing Fiji hospitality with a super convenient location.

Location - across the beach, next to split rock and quiet part of town. People - William, Tuks, Cecil - the gang was amazing. Extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The steps are real so if you have older folks in your group be mindful but otherwise it was a good exercise a couple of times a day! They have kayaks, stand up paddle boards, vests and snorkeling masks to use. They did a traditional Lovo at the home and the kids absolutely loved it. We ended up making it a day of cooking and eating - participating in the prep and cooking.

Worth knowing

It was a little aged so don’t expect a 5-star resort grade accommodations but that’s a fact than any critic. We were absolutely comfortable and would go back.

Worth knowing

« Pas aimé » est un grand mot, la douche du bas mériterais un coup de neuf, indépendamment des coupure d’eau du à des travaux dans la rue, il n’y a pas/tres peu d’eau chaude mais avec le climat la douche « froide » n’ai pas Insurmontable Un coup de joints par-ci par-là serais le bienvenu (la vasque de la salle de bain d’en bas par exemple)

This property was absolutely lovely - big open deck with a sprawling view to watch the sunsets, and of course the infinity pool is amazing, and really helped to cool us down on the hot days. Being so close to an absolutely stunning reef with thousands of fish and gorgeous coral was definitely an amazing perk as well. And the management and staff are fabulous. Bruce picked us up at the airport and took great care of us.

Worth knowing

The only thing that was a bit of a bummer was the 200 steps to get to the Villa. And there is no A/C so on the hot days it was a bit uncomfortable - they have lots of fans which definitely helped and the pool is there, so we just utilized that when we could :)

Great location, excellent views but not easy to get to and from (necessary to negotiate 125 plus concrete steps with deep and varying rises and hand rails in need of maintenance making the carriage of luggage and supplies up and down difficult and somewhat precarious limiting its suitability.)

Worth knowing

Even though the general facilities were well provided for several of the kitchen appliances had not been presented for new guests in a clean enough state. It was also necessary to request additional basic supplies to last our 10 day stay. Whilst we enjoyed our stay, the property in general was in need of some serious maintenance in places, (many protruding nails on decks and some springy boards in particular needed attention) The photos on booking.com do not represent the present state of the property.

Hidden gems - House of Bamboo and beautiful Savusavu

House of Bamboo was the perfect place to stay. Located 6km out of Savusavu, along a very pretty seaside road, House of Bamboo was surrounded by beautiful tropical vegetation while still offering stunning views of the sea from its large deck. The house was very comfortable and extremely well equipped so that we had everything we needed for our 8 day stay. The beautiful pool area was a lovely bonus. There was great snorkelling right out in front and we enjoyed the use of the property's snorkelling gear, kayaks and paddleboards. Taxis to nearby Savusavu were cheap and readily available. We were met by our host at the airport and farewelled on departure, and our luggage was carried up and down the 100 steps for us! Meagan and staff could not have been kinder or more helpful - they were absolutely wonderful, and we were very appreciative of that. We all loved our stay at House of Bamboo and would definitely stay here again if we return to Savusavu, which we would also love to do!
