Relaxing stay and good value for families

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at Double Tree Hilton. Compared to expensive resorts at Denerau it is good value for money for a family with teenage girls. The staff were very friendly and helpful, shout out to the pool bar staff who were excellent. The happy hour cocktails three times a day there was a highlight, and great to be able to watch the World Cup football matches live also. We had a King Room with two King Beds, the separated shower and toilet from the rest of the bathroom is good for a family. We dined at Vulani restaurant, as the menu at Tavu Grill was limited for choice for a family with teenagers. Happy with the À la Carte options at Vulani, the pasta meals were huge! Strange not to have burger options on this menu past 6pm though. The sunsets looking out towards Malolo Lailai Island were stunning!
Worth knowing
Parts of the resort look quite tired, and need a refresh. I understand a big storm hit Fiji back in April, but it didn't look like much had been cleaned up three months later around the rocks on the beachfront at the resort. It just looked really untidy. The swimming pool while refreshing to swim in only has one access point in and out from the beach side. We did one buffet Pizza & Pasta night and weren't impressed. Only three pizza options, which didn't look appealing, and we thought this was poor value for money.
