The food was amazing! They provided good gluten free options and there was always fresh fruit, salads and vegetables along with plenty of meat options. Very fresh, healthy and hearty with very little processed food. Really impressed. We had a beach front bure which was in a great location. It's a VERY peaceful resort, no late night drinkers or partying, just very laid back and relaxed. The reef snorkelling trip to swim with the small reef sharks was very cool, and the school visit was another highlight. The snorkelling directly in front of the resort is also great! Lots of coral and fish to see without needing to go anywhere. We liked that it's not a glossy 'commercial' place... it is run by a few of the local villages, and it's nice to know that the money goes back into the local community. There's certainly maintenance that needs doing, and the facilities are simple, but for the price that is to be expected. Overall our family of 2 adults and 2 kids really enjoyed our 4 nights at Waya Lailai and we would definitely recommend it to others.
Worth knowing
The water pressure in the shower ( cold water only) was fine but very low. Better WiFi would have been handy, but it is on while the generator is running in the dining area... just very very slow
