Had to leave early because was so bad !

I am most confused about previous reviews - we had a completely different experience - it was terrible and really ruined our fiji experience - we had stayed at two previous places in Fiji. There was no running water during the day because of ‘plumbing problems’ therefore no flushing toilets, shower or tap to wash your hands during the day. There was no bar as advertised on the booking.com website. There was no bar or option to even buy soft drinks. You were forced to drink filtered rain water. How can you advertise a bar without even having one or an option to buy soft drinks ? There was one other couple staying at the lodge who both had food poisoning from the lodge ! I refused to eat at the lodge and didn’t eat anything for a whole 24 hours before getting the next ferry to a different island. My partner ate dinner and breakfast and ALSO got food poisoning. The fan in the room didn’t work. The bed was foam with no mattress: I am most concerned as to why booking is still advertising this place, and most concerned with the misleading reviews stated! Clearly something has gone categorically wrong here at this lodge and people must be warned or at least made aware of the real situation. It’s appalling. The lady tried to charged us over $850 Fijian dollars for a 5 night stay with no water during the day. The photos advertised are very different to the ones in real life ! False advertisement ! There was only a single plug in the wall with electricity available between 6pm and 6am only. Turns out - Others had also left early because of the bad conditions and she was also excited to leave. It pains me to write such a negative review. And I really hope they manage to turn this around.

Just Don’t Expect Luxury

Yeah I have to admit, this place is run down. It’s in serious need of repairs and renovations. Toilets don’t always work, water runs out several times a day, doors won’t close, you’d often see insects in the bedrooms and bathrooms… you get my drift. Still, i loved my stay here. The staff sets this place apart. Very helpful and friendly. It’s owned and run by locals, so you’d get an authentic Fijian experience. It actually felt like staying in a huge homestay. Meals are served in one huge table so you’d get to know other guests. The food was mostly fine, though if you eat a lot i’d suggest bringing snacks. There’s electricity 24/7 now cause they have solar panels. There’s free drinking water, but this is rainwater stored in a tank. You might want to bring your own drinking water if you’re not okay with this. For the record i was drinking it for four days and I didn’t get sick, neither did other guests. The location is great, right by the beach. Nacula island is probably the best one i’ve visited in the Yasawas. As long as you keep your expectations in check, as long as you don’t expect luxury and you’re willing to rough it out a bit, you’ll have a great time here.

Agree mostly with 'Eric, the bananaman' from Sept 2019 review, re management and facilities. It appears nothing much has changed in 5 years, tbh!! It is "not a resort", we are warned in your info. However, for the money you harvest from your guests, and compared to similar places, it's not really acceptable to use as an excuse for lack of basic Comfort & Care. The only upside is that electricity is mostly available due to solar upgrades. Cold showers only are available. Shower heads & water pressure varied widely from convos with other travellers, (mostly poor). Breakfasts the best meal of the day, but not much fruit offered. Dinners were endured - or avoided. Repetitive & bony proteins. Dogs vs. cat fight in our Bure was not pretty. Tip for management: Treat us all (ie. your paying guests) as you would like to be treated!! We felt like an inconvenience most of the time. Work on your famous Fijian hospitality folks, don't just treat us like another Resource to be Harvested!! 🥥 The only staff member who stood out was Joe, the assistant boatman. He absolutely made our stay memorable. 👍🏻 Vinaka Joe.

Absolutely Gorgeous!

If you’re expecting a polished, all-inclusive spa experience, this isn’t the place—and that’s the point. Don’t come here looking for luxury. This is an eco-lodge on a remote Yasawa island, and it’s genuinely off the beaten path. Getting here is half the adventure (about five hours by boat), and the remoteness means things can’t always work like they do in a city hotel. What you do get is something special: a small, caring team who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. They’re incredibly accommodating, planning daily activities based on the ever-changing Fijian weather. When forecasts threatened endless rain, I lucked out with sun most days. One of the highlights is the reef just offshore—teeming with marine life. It’s about a 20-minute swim if you’re confident in the water. My tip: bring your own fins and mask from Nadi if you want to be sure you’ll have them. They lend out gear, but supplies can run short when everyone wants to snorkel. Activities range from hikes to village visits to ocean trips, and they’re open to helping set up things not listed on their board. Don’t hesitate to ask. I found the local village absolutely worth exploring. The reef itself? Amazing. Sharks up to 3 meters, stingrays, squids, and vibrant coral. A few things here are basic or imperfect—that’s just the reality of a remote eco-lodge. But what matters is the spirit of the place. People genuinely care, and you feel it. The team, the village, even the resident dogs and cat make you feel at home (give them some love from me!). I spent five weeks here and met solo travelers, couples, and groups—everyone seemed to find their rhythm. If you want fancy cocktails at sunset in an infinity pool, pick a resort (and pay for it). If you want warmth, authenticity, and natural beauty, this is the place. Big thanks to everyone there. I’ll carry these memories for a long time. Book while you can—you won’t regret it.

Amazing Place with Amazing People! Simple accommodation and simple food, but worth visiting and staying.

The place (location) is amazing with amazing people running the lodge. We were so lucky to have found this gem. Accommodation is simple but absolutely worth it. The trips offered by the lodge are definitely worth doing. Already planning our return as a family. As Kara and Nai said, don’t expect a resort but we felt better looked after than if we were at one. Thank you definitely recommend it.
